Weather Forecast for May 12th, 2014
The hotter than average temperatures are leaving for a while. While we’re still expecting warm temperatures the next couple days with slight chances for storms, a frontal system moves into the area and brings potentially heavy rain and storms into the Middle Georgia area. CAPE (convective available potential energy) looks high enough for potential storms, but the wind shear is almost nonexistent, so I’m keeping the threat for severe weather low. The main concern will be heavy rain from this sytem, but it’ll fortunately be gone by Friday morning.
After that, we see a trough settle into the area, bringing us cooler temperatures to end the week. I’m sure most of you will be excited to hear that we’ll see 70s then, with sunny skies for the rest of the 7-Day forecast.
