Middle Georgia School, Business Openings and Closings for Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The following school districts have announced school closings for Thursday, February 13th:

• Baldwin County – School is closed on Thursday.
• Bibb County – Schools closed for students Thursday. Staff should report at 12:00 p.m. Staff who feel conditions are not safe should make their supervisiors aware of their situation. All school district-related events including Parent Academy classes, athletics and professional learning workshops have been canceled for Thursday.
• Bleckley County – Closed for students on Thursday. Staff will report on Wednesday as normal and will be notified about Thursday.
• Crawford County – Closed for students Thursday. Staff should report at 10:00 a.m.
• Dodge County – Staff should at 10 a.m.
• Dooly County – Closed Thursday for students and staff.
• Dublin City Schools – School canceled for Thursday.
• Houston County – Closed Thursday.
• Johnson County – Closed Thursday for students and staff.
• Jones County – Closed for students Thursday. Staff should report at 11:00 a.m.
• Laurens County – No school for students Thursday.
• Macon County – Closed Thursday.
• Monroe County – Closed for students and staff on Thursday. Schools will reopen as normal on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Winter Holidays for Friday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 17 will take place as scheduled.
• Peach County – Schools and facilities will be closed for students, faculty and staff on Thursday.
• Puklaski County – Students and staff are to report to school two hours late on Thursday.
• Taylor County – Closed Wednesday.
• Telfair County – No School for students Thursday, staff reports at 10 a.m. Basketball Tournament games will be played tonight (2/11) at 5:30p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. No games Wednesday (2/12), Thursday games are pending (2/13).
• Twiggs County – Closed for staff and students Thursday.
• Washington County – Closed Thursday for students and staff.
• Wheeler County – Closed on Thursday.
• Wilcox County – Open Wednesday.
• Wilkinson County – Closed hursday.

Private/Pre-schools:

• Bethany Christian Academy – Closed Thursday.
• Christ United Methodist School – Closed Thursday.
• Covenant Academy – Closed Thursday.
• EOC Headstart and Early Headstart (Bibb and Monroe) – Closed Thursday for students and transportation staff. All other staff reports at 12 p.m.
• First Presbyterian Day School – Closed Thursday.
• Georgia Academy for the Blind – Closed Thursday.
• John Milledge Academy – Closed Thursday.
• M.A. Evans Academy – Closed Thursday.
• Middle Georgia Christian School – Closed Thursday.
• Mount De Sales – Delayed opening at 10 a.m. Should this change because of weather conditions, an e-mail will be sent to parents by 7:00 am. Those who ride the MDS bus to campus from Warner Robins should report to the pick-up site at 9:10 am.
• Stratford Academy – Delayed opening Thursday. Staff should report at 10:00 and students report at 10:30 a.m.
• Tattnall Square Academy – Closed Thursday.
• Warner Robins Christian Academy – Closed Thursday for students and staff.
• Westside Christian Academy – Closed Thursday
• Westfield School – Closed Thursday.

Colleges:

• East Georgia State College – Campuses in Swainsboro, Statesboro and Augusta will closed on Thursday.
• Fort Valley State University – Campus is closed Thursday.
• Georgia Military College – All classes canceled for Georgia Military College – Milledgeville Campus (prep and junior college). No requirement for employees to report to work today. Normal schedules will resume Friday, February 14, 2014.
• Mercer University – Macon Campus administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday. All Macon Campus Thursday classes that begin at 10 a.m. or later will meet as scheduled. Eastman Regional Academic Center classes will meet as scheduled.
• Middle Georgia State College – All campuses will remain closed until noon Thursday. Classes beginning prior to noon are canceled.
• Virginia College – Campus will be closed on Thursday for faculty and staff.

Health/Day Care Centers:

• Annette’s Learning Center – Closed Wednesday.
• Bright Star Learning Center of Macon – Closed Wednesday. Will reopen Thursday at 11 a.m.
• L and J Adult Day Care Center – Closed Thursday.
• New Beginnings Child Care – Closed Thursday.
• River Edge Behavioral Health Center – River Edge Behavioral Health Center will reopen its outpatient sites and administrative offices at noon on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Business Openings/Closings:

• Bible Baptist Temple in Warner Robins – No church services Thursday night.
• Goodwill Industries of Middle GeorgiaAll Goodwill operations to open at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Helms College and School of Health operations at Eisenhower, Main Campus and Riverside Drive will open at 11:00 a.m.
• Lake Oconee and Milledgeville: All Goodwill operations open at 11:00 a.m. All Helms and School of Health operations open at 12:00p.m.
• Robins Air Force Base – Robins Air Force Base will implement delayed reporting Thursday beginning at 9 a.m.
