GC Bobcat Basketball Hosts Stimulus Saturday Jan. 4, Free Admission for Games
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Start 2014 off on the right foot with the highest level of basketball competition in Middle Georgia, and family-friendly entertainment all for free thanks to Stimulus Saturday at the Centennial Center. The Bobcats host the University of North Georgia in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play Saturday, Jan. 4 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The Bobcat women are 9-0, the team’s best start in over a decade. A pair of juniors in Enisha Donley and Shanteona Keys flank one of the highest-scoring sixth men in all of Division II basketball in Brandi McKinney, as the Bobcats also feature the top defense in the PBC.
The GC men’s basketball team has won two in a row and owns a 5-4 record. The Bobcat men boast a fast-paced offense led by sophomore guard Terrell Harris with four 20-plus scoring games, including 30 points and 28 points in victories earlier this season. He is aided by classmate Ryan Blumenthal at 14.8 points per game.
Crucial matchups await both squads as they continue to jockey for position in the tough PBC West Division, and it’s all free for Bobcat Nation to start the new year off right.
