Bobcat Cheerleading Announces Collins as New Head Coach

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Georgia College Director of Athletics Wendell Staton is proud to announce the addition of new head coach Amber Collins to the Bobcat cheerleading staff.

Collins, a native of Cochran, Ga., cheered for Bobcat Nation from Fall of 2007 to Spring of 2011. While cheering, she made four appearances at NCA/NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Competition, and placed third in 2009.

During her 13 years of cheer-related experience, Collins worked for the National Cheerleaders Association, where she traveled across the Southeastern U.S. conducting summer camps. From 2009 to 2011, she was a judge for GISA State Cheerleading. Collins became a GHSA certified safety and panel judge in 2012 for the Middle Georgia Cheerleading Association and still currently holds her certification.

Collins has two degrees from Georgia College that include a bachelor’s in psychology and an master’s in the same field of study.

Collins is married to former Bobcat golfer and current GC golf assistant coach Kyle Collins. They live in Milledgeville.
