F.V.S.U. College Student Training for N.F.L.

His name is Ricardo Lockette and he wants to be a professional football player. Like almost every boy, he grew up dreaming of the day when he would be able to step on the field and catch the winning touchdown.

For most of us, that is where it ends. For Lockette, he’s another step closer to making his dream, a reality.

In his senior year of college, Lockette took on the ultimate challenge. He dropped out of school to pursue a career in football.

And with his invite to the NFL combine, maybe it wasn’t such a bad choice.

“They’re gonna evaluate you against the top 25 receivers in the nation. And then it’s up to me to just perform. Personally I feel like I should have the best times in every aspect of the combine,” he says.

An attitude his old coach, Ronald Pittman, shares.

“Whether he’s playing in the NFL or he decides to take on another career. He’s always gonna be at the top of it. He’s that type of person.”

Lockette has been training in Arizona for the combine since December of 2010. He is a wide receiver and 100 meter National Champion.

The NFL Combine runs February 23rd through March 1st in Indianapolis.
