‘Loves Lights a Tree’ to Support Relay for Life of Bibb County
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The holidays are all about spending time with your family, but that can be difficult for some who have lost a loved one to cancer. That is why Relay for Life of Bibb County is remembering those affected by cancer through its “Love Lights a Tree” event. Jahnna Cole stopped by Daybreak to tell us more about it.
There will be a tree lighting ceremony to remember loved one affected by cancer. Those attending can celebrate the holidays by purchasing a symbolic Christmas tree light for $1.00 or a bow for $5.00 to honor or remember their loved ones.
The family friendly event will also feature other activities like caroling by Bibb school choruses, a kiddie corner with crafts, and a relay raffle. This is the Relay for Life of Bibb County’s first big fundraising event for the the 2014 Relay for Life.
“Love Lights a Tree” is Saturday, December 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Macon Mall near the Smok’n Pig entrance. The event is free.
