Bobcat Madness Highlighted by Halfcourt Shot for Free Tuition

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Joined with the Thunder Crew student spirit group and the Student Government Association, Georgia College basketball will kick off the 2013-14 season in style with Bobcat Madness Thursday, Oct. 17, the doors opening at 9 p.m.

The pre-event tailgate with live music from student band “The White Kids” begins at 7:30 p.m., with free hamburgers supplied by BUBBA Burger, while supplies last.

When the doors open at 9 p.m., the first 500 fans receive event T-shirts. Once inside, the program is jam-packed with a dunk contest, scrimmages, games for fans, and performances by the cheerleaders, Sassy Cats dance team and Pep Band. Fans can also look for giveaways throughout the evening and one lucky member of Bobcat Nation will take a half-court shot for a semester of free tuition to cap the festivities.

Serving as the annual kickoff to the Bobcat basketball season, Georgia College holds the annual high-energy Madness event to introduce Bobcat Nation to the basketball teams, having a lot of fun in the process.
