MGSC Knights Beat Atlanta Sports Academy 27-20

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Middle Georgia State College club football team beat Atlanta Sports Academy Saturday 27-20 at Mount de Sales Stadium.

Trailing 17-13 at the start of the second half, the Knights (3-0) relied on strong defense to hold ASA’s Spartans to a field goal.  Later, a Rico Lyons touchdown brought the Knights to within one but they failed to tie the game after missing the extra point try.

Leading 20-19, ASA began driving the field but threw an interception.  Later, MGSC quarterback Kion Button found Quez Mahoganey for a touchdown to put the Knights up 25-20.  Dee Lundy’s pass to Jamarious Wright on the two-point conversion try pushed the Knights’ lead to 27-20.

The Knights, ranked No. 2 in the National Club Footaball Association, are off this week.  They’ll travel to Columbia, South Carolina on October 6 to face the University of South Carolina’s club team.  Kickoff for that game is set for 3 p.m. Watch it live at www.ihigh.com/mgsknights.
