GC Volleyball Sweeps Fort Valley State, 3-0
FORT VALLEY, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – The Georgia College volleyball team (3-6) picked up its first road win in program history Tuesday night, beating Fort Valley State University (1-10) in straight sets, 25-15, 25-10 and 25-15.
Miller Howard (Suwanee, Ga.) led the team in kills with 13, hitting .458 on the match. Lauren Johnston (Acworth, Ga.) added seven kills, while Rachel Rice (Johns Creek, Ga.) added six with a .667 attack percentage.
Micayla Patterson (Tyrone, Ga.) and Kaitlyn Lattimer (Buford, Ga.) split time at setter, Lattimer getting 22 assists and Patterson 12. The team leader in digs was Lindsay Holmes (Norcross, Ga.) at with seven.
The Bobcats hit .327 as a squad, their best effort of the program’s first season thus far.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. traveling to Flagler College.
