Brazil Police Probe Killing Of Two Officers, Three More
SAO PAULO (AP) – Sao Paulo police are at odds over what happened in the slaying of two officers and three relatives, who were all found at home shot in the head. One of the dead was the 13-year-old son of the two officers, who were married. Investigator Itagiba Franco says he thinks the boy shot his parents, his grandmother and a great aunt before killing himself. Franco says the murder weapon was found in the boy’s hand.
But the commander of the mother’s police unit told radio station Bandeirantes on Wednesday that he’s not convinced the boy is responsible. Col. Wagner Dimas says that officer Andreia Pesseghini recently denounced other officers for robbing ATM machines and that could have something to do with the killings. The bodies were discovered Monday.
