23 Hospitals Join for Better Patient Care

GREENSBORO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Doctors in middle and south Georgia are coming together to create a network of hospitals they hope will make it easier for you to get faster treatment, closer to home.

They announced the partnership on Tuesday.

It’s the largest of its kind in the southeast.

Medical professionals are calling the new program “Stratus Healthcare.”

Dr. Ninfa Saunders, CEO of the Central Georgia Health System, has worked in a partnership with Tift Regional Medical System since last October.

“As a group of hospitals we are going to be more ready, more responsive, more spontaneous, but still thoughtful, in making sure that we can step up to the challenges of healthcare,” Saunders said.

She says a joint effort with the other hospitals will benefit patients.

Each hospital is working together to reduce costs not only for medical staff, but for patients too.

“We will work together towards the same mission, we will work by having the patient at the center of what we do and making sure that every step of the way, it is the patient that drives our work as opposed to anything else.”

Sharing information will speed up service time.
