Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Friday Night Drags Week Eight Results

HAMPTON, GA – Drag racers took to Atlanta Motor Speedway’s pit lane drag strip on Friday night in hopes of building strong early season starts during week eight of Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine, the Speedway’s weekly summer drag racing series.

With a large number of cars on hand, racing was intense as multiple drivers maintained their early season momentum in the third points event of the season at Friday Night Drags. Bobby Daniel was among that group. Facing Mark White in the Super Pro final, the Stockbridge driver pulled away from a close race to win the final-round elimination in the fastest Friday Night Drags division for the second week in a row.

In the Pro division, Allan Kidd continued the hot start to his season, bringing home his third win in a row at Friday Night Drags behind the wheel of his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Meanwhile, Terry Bates returned to victory lane in the Domestic Division after being upset in last week’s competition.

Griffin’s Nicolas Feliciano continued a strong June, winning the second final round elimination out of the past three weeks in the Tuner division while driving a 1982 Toyota Corolla. After his victory in the Street Outlaw division last Friday, Feliciano celebrates his third win in a row.

Within the motorcycle ranks, Stockbridge’s Toney Freeman doubled up the spoils of victory. He won first place in two separate divisions, Cycle Nation Super Bike and Sportbike. His Super Bike victory came aboard a 2002 Suzuki Hyabusa with the latter of the two wins coming on a 2005 GSXR 1000.

Thanks to a red car win on Friday night, fans were treated to a pizza discount on Saturday, courtesy of Papa John’s Pizza. Anytime a red car ends up in victory lane in any division, fans qualify for 50 percent off any regular priced menu item on Saturday when ordering online at PapaJohns.com. Fans are asked to use the promo code 50RED when ordering at participating locations.
