Help Save A Life by Donating Bone Marrow

A bone marrow transplant could save a life of someone with leukemia, sickle cell, or some other blood related disease. But the marrow that patient receives must come from a genetically matched donor. 41NBC’s Melissa Lee sat down with Nancy White and Cindy Gaskins to get details on how you could help save a life, by joining the national bone marrow registry.

To register to become a bone marrow donor, head to the Medical Center of Central Georgia’s Ambulatory Surgery Center lobby this friday. They’re located at 1014 Forsyth Street in Macon. You can come between 7 and 10AM or 3 and 6PM.

The only requirement to join the registry is to be between the ages of 18 and 44, in good health and willing to donate to any patient in need if your are a genetic match.
