Teen in Macon Mall shooting found to have been in a 3 on 1 altercation before being shot

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has released new information concerning the Macon mall shooting that resulted in the death of 17 year-old Quentavious Moore on Sunday, August 1.

The incident report states that Deputy Christopher Williams responded to reports that a person had been shot, and found Quentavious Moore bleeding with a chest wound on the floor of the food court while being supported by his older brother. While applying pressure to Moore’s wound, Deputy Williams states that he noticed an empty weapon holster.

After EMT and Fire Units responded to the scene, Williams followed a trail of blood that led to the original incident site. An eyewitness says she saw a smaller male being followed by a group of other males before hearing them get into a physical altercation. The eyewitness says she heard a female attempt to break of the fight before hearing a gunshot outside of the nail salon that she was in.

Later on, Investigator Malcom Bryant interviewed Moore’s older brother who said that he, Quentavious, and their cousin all had an altercation with a male that was accompanied by a female. Moore’s brother also mentioned that Quentavious had a gun on him that he believed to be a 40 caliber weapon.

The CCTV footage from the mall showed investigators that 3 men had been attacking one man, the man broke free, and then shot one of the attackers before all parties fled.
