Macon School Hosts NASA Family STEM Night

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Students at Alexander II Magnet School went a little deeper into their math and science studies, all thanks to NASA.

NASA Family STEM Night was a chance for students and parents to dig deeper into subjects like science, technology, engineering and math.  In fact, that’s exactly what STEM stands for.

Forget dissecting frogs.  These students got to do way cool experiments throughout the building, including using electricity to light up a pickle and doing obstacle courses with robots.

Principal Cindy Canova believes the event helped students get a more hands-on approach to math and science.

“To be able to see, hear, feel, taste and kind of play around with the objects to see how the objects react and interact is truly the best basis for our education,” syas Canova.

The event was made possible through a new partnership between NASA and the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, which sends out unique experiements to schools for students to perform.
