MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Survivors and advocates will take center stage at the 2nd Annual Courageous Awards, presented by Karlie Redd’s Big Heart Foundation on October 28 at the Atlanta Central Library. The event, held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, honors individuals who have overcome domestic violence and highlights their resilience, hope, and healing.

The ceremony will feature a red-carpet experience, survivor testimonials, special guest appearances, and presentations from entertainment personalities and community leaders, including Redd, Yandy Smith, Kie Fair, and the Honorable Erica Thomas Adeyemi. The evening aims not only to recognize survivors but also to connect them with resources and support, while raising awareness about domestic violence prevention and advocacy.

Karlie Redd, founder of the Big Heart Foundation, will share her own story at the event. “The Courageous Awards is my way of reminding survivors that their pain does not define them, their voices matter, and there is hope and healing on the other side of survival,” Redd said.

The Courageous Awards is part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting survivors and inspiring community involvement. The event is open to the public.
