MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some high level cirrus clouds will begin creeping north across Middle Georgia tomorrow afternoon as Isaias churns in the Gulf.

A mostly sunny afternoon across Middle Georgia will become the coolest night of the week as temperatures valley in the low to mid 50s for most of Middle Georgia. A few cirrus clouds may begin to move in ahead of the sunrise. The wind will be light out of the northeast around 5 mph.

There should be plenty of sun early before those aforementioned cirrus clouds creep northward throughout the day. The wind will remain light out of the northeast as temperatures reach their peaks for the week in the mid to upper 80s for highs.

Overnight will be mostly cloudy as the cirrus clouds essentially become a blanket overhead. While a stray shower is possible the odds for rain are very slim. Temperatures should largely valley in the lower 60s leading into Friday morning.

Friday and Beyond

The first bits of rain associated with Isaias will move into Middle Georgia sometime Friday with heavier rain likely overnight and into Saturday. While the forecast still may change some the expected track of Isaias has trended more east.

This is unfortunately increasing the potential for embedded tornadic cells associated with Isaias impacting Middle Georgia sometime Saturday into Sunday. The possibility for nocturnal tornadoes will be there depending on the timing of Isaias’s landfall. Middle Georgians should prepare before this weekend by knowing where to go if they need to take shelter. Mobile homes are not safe during a tornado. There is also a threat for some flash flooding. Those who live in flood prone areas should also have a place to go should they need to find higher ground. Rain odds should drop late Sunday as sunshine returns for the new work week.
