MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a couple of overcast days around Middle Georgia the sunshine will be back along with below average temperatures to finish the week.

This Evening

Cloud cover has been stubborn over Middle Georgia since filling back in late yesterday evening. Temperatures have remained quite cool today with some spots remaining in the upper 60s through the afternoon hours. The wind has been less breezy than expected however gusts of 15-20 mph remain possible through the evening. Cloud cover should break up after the sun sets tonight with clear conditions expected by tomorrow morning. Temperatures will valley in the mid 50s around the region accompanied by a northeast wind of 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow

The sun will be back for the entirety of the day on Friday which will lead to a nice warmup from Thursday afternoon, however highs will be below average as some spots may not get up to 80 degrees in the afternoon. The wind will flow out of the north-northeast at 5-10 mph. Gusts could still reach to around 15 mph through the afternoon providing a pleasant breeze.

Overnight will be clear and potentially a bit chilly as temperatures fall into the low to mid 50s across the region. The wind will flow out of the east-northeast around 5 mph.

This Weekend and Beyond

Saturday should still be a degree or two below average in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies, however conditions should return to around or above average Sunday afternoon. A lot of sun is likely into a big chunk of next week as temperatures rebound back towards the lower 90s heading into October. Expect rain chances to be negligible for the near future.
