(LILAMAX)- President Donald Trump says his administration is reviewing a possible ban on U.S. diesel exports as record fuel prices put pressure on farmers, truckers and businesses.
The proposal comes as lawmakers have called for restrictions on diesel exports in an effort to increase domestic supply and limit price increases. The United States is a major diesel exporter, while domestic inventories have fallen to historically low levels amid global supply disruptions.
Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean is nearing a deal to acquire a 50% equity stake in Sandals, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The discussions would value Sandals at $6 billion. Talks remain ongoing and may not result in a transaction. A deal would expand Royal Caribbean’s presence in land-based vacations.
On Wall Street, renewed investor interest in artificial intelligence companies helped push the Nasdaq to a fresh all-time high.
Gap is also expanding its presence in entertainment through a partnership with the new boy band “Just Your Type.”
The group’s five members will perform at malls during a music tour and hold meet-and-greets at Gap stores. Gap will also co-produce a docuseries about the band’s creation and launch a clothing collection co-designed by the five members.
And a new survey of 1,000 U.S. physicians found 63% said their anxieties about the health care industry have increased over the past year. Despite those concerns, 97% believe their patients trust their expertise as health care providers.
The survey was commissioned by PatientPoint for its inaugural “Physician Confidence Index” and conducted by Talker Research.
The study also found 68% of physicians surveyed said they have had patients discuss AI-sourced health information with them. Half of the physicians polled believe health information shared by artificial intelligence is somewhat trustworthy.
