Death investigation underway after body found in burned shed on Barbara Drive in Macon

The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was discovered inside a burned shed Tuesday morning on Barbara Drive.

The Bibb County Fire Department responded to the fire and found human remains inside the shed.

An arson investigator and Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson also responded to the scene. Robinson pronounced the person dead.

The identity of the deceased has not been released. The cause of death has also not been determined.

The investigation remains ongoing. The sheriff’s office says additional information will be released as it becomes available.
