Pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run in Macon early Thursday morning
Deputies say driver fled scene after striking man early Thursday; investigation ongoing.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian critically injured early Thursday near the intersection of Spring Street and Willow Street.
Authorities said the incident was reported to Macon-Bibb E-911 around 12:30 a.m. Deputies responding to the scene found a 34-year-old man unresponsive in the roadway. Deputies said the man appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that left the scene without reporting the incident.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
