Warner Robins proposes property tax increase, sets 3 public hearings
The proposed 2026 property tax levy would be 12.74% above the rollback rate for Warner Robins residents in Houston County and 16.12% above the rate for residents in Peach County.
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Warner Robins is proposing a 2026 property tax increase of 12.74% above the rollback millage rate for city residents in Houston County and 16.12% above the rollback rate for city residents in Peach County.
The city announced the proposed increase in a news release Saturday as the mayor and council work to finalize the city’s budget and set the final millage rate.
Georgia law requires local governments to calculate a rollback millage rate that would generate the same property tax revenue as the previous year, excluding increases caused by property reassessments.
According to the city, the tentatively adopted budget requires a millage rate higher than the rollback rate. Before the budget and millage rate can be finalized, the city must hold three public hearings on the proposed increase.
The hearings will be held at Warner Robins City Hall, 700 Watson Blvd., on:
- Monday, September 14 at noon
- Monday, September 21 at noon
- Monday, September 21immediately after the pre-council meeting, but no earlier than 6 p.m.
