PEACH COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Construction will begin Monday on an I-75 South exit ramp widening project in Peach County, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

According to a map provided by GDOT, the work will happen at Exit 146 at the State Route 247 Connector and I-75.

In a news release, GDOT said contractors will widen the ramp to add a dedicated right-turn lane and two left-turn lanes.

Lane closures are expected during construction, but GDOT says contractors will keep them to a minimum.

Warning signs will be placed ahead of the work area. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and remain alert while traveling through the area.

The project is expected to be completed in late fall 2026.
