MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will push 100 degrees again across Middle Georgia Thursday afternoon as rain chances stay low.

This Evening

It’s been a sunny and hot day but despite temperatures pushing 100 degrees the heat index values have remained below 105F and as a result there was no Heat Advisory. Expect a clear night with temperatures dropping into the lower 70s. The wind will be light out of the west.

Tomorrow

While temperatures will again soar towards 100 degrees with most spots likely to reach over 100 with the heat index a Heat Advisory once again looks unlikely. The wind will be light out of the west and a couple of showers or a storm will be possible over the later parts of the day.

Overnight will be partly cloudy with temperatures dropping into the low to mid 70s. The wind will be light and variable.

Friday and Beyond

An incoming cold/stationary front will bring scattered storms to Middle Georgia late Friday afternoon and evening. This will happen after temperatures have pushed into the mid to upper 90s (heat index values over 100). Said front will lead to a cooldown in temperatures this weekend as highs return to the lower 90s for much of the region. Rain odds will drop after Friday and there likely won’t be any over the back half of the weekend/early next week.
