Coroner: Body found outside building on Second Street in Macon

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found behind hedges in the 600 block of Second Street near Plum Street Lane just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said no signs of foul play were found and that the death is “possibly due to natural causes.”

Deputies aren’t sure how long the body had been there. Coroner Leon Jones says the body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab for examination and to determine the person’s identity.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An unidentified woman’s body was found outside a building in the 600 block of Second Street Tuesday morning, according to Coroner Leon Jones.

Jones said the body, found by men cutting grass, was “badly decomposed.”
