ORIGINAL STORY (7/23):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Drivers on Vineville Avenue in Macon will encounter a lane shift and closure beginning Monday, July 27, while the Georgia Department of Transportation replaces pipes.

GDOT says the outside northbound lane of State Route 19/Vineville Avenue will shift into the center lane between Stonewall Place and Florida Avenue.

The change will require the center lane to close to southbound traffic along that section of Vineville Avenue.

Drivers should reduce their speed and remain alert while traveling through the work zone.

GDOT did not provide an estimated completion date for the project.
