Howard High football hoping for progress in 2026

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Howard High School football team finished 2-8 in 2026 but Head Coach Trey Porter and the Huskies are hopeful that their third year together will yield better results on the gridiron.
“We gotta tighten up everything because in two weeks they’re student athletes again,” Porter said. “We’re trying to get the most we can out of them in these two weeks while they’re just football players, and make sure we got everything ironed out so when the season comes, and they’re also doing homework and school work, we won’t lose that much of a drop off.”
The Huskies kick off the regular season against Southwest on Aug. 21.
