Man arrested after assault at Dempsey Apartments

Deputies say the victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition after the assault at Dempsey Apartments.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man was arrested Monday after a 60-year-old man was cut inside a home at Dempsey Apartments on Cherry Street, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says the aggravated assault was reported just after 2 p.m. Monday.

When deputies got there, they found a 60-year-old man with a cut wound, according to the sheriff’s office. Paramedics took the man to a local hospital for treatment. He’s in stable condition, according to deputies.

After further investigation, investigators say they recovered evidence from the assault and arrested 34-year-old Daniel John Travis. Travis was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division before being taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The sheriff’s office says Travis is charged with aggravated assault and public indecency.
