Eight tornadoes confirmed in Middle Georgia from the remains of Tropical Storm Arthur last Thursday
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT ) – The tornado warned part of the line that moved through Middle Georgia last Thursday evening dropped eight tornadoes in Middle Georgia as it moved east-northeast.
Posted above is what the NWS Survey team found in terms of damage and tornado paths from last Thursday evening. The most intense twister was the one in Crawford and Monroe Counties followed by the one that tracked through northeastern Jones, far northwestern Baldwin, and southern Putnam counties (over parts of Lake Oconee). This is why these brief spin up tornadoes are dangerous: they lift and drop frequently with little time to prepare.
Here is a link with information about each of these tracks (as well as a couple from outside the region and a powerful downburst in Sumter County): https://partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov/products/cache/174-2026/PNSFFC/03f9f3c9f62b13bc27fe48255caab32c
