Derek Dooley campaigns with Kemp in Macon ahead of Senate runoff
Dooley outlined parts of his “Georgia First Contract” during a meet-and-greet ahead of Tuesday’s runoff election

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Derek Dooley campaigned in Macon Friday alongside Gov. Brian Kemp ahead of Tuesday’s runoff election for the Republican nomination in Georgia’s U.S. Senate race.
Dooley is running on a five-point plan he calls the Georgia First Contract. At a meet-and-greet, he outlined several of the major promises he intends to keep if elected.
“If I’m honored enough to get elected, I’m only serving two terms,” he said. “I’m fighting every single day for term limits. I think it is the most important thing we can do to get Congress working for us again. The third thing is when I’m in office, I’m not gonna trade stocks or crypto, and it’s time we ban that.”
Dooley, better known for his years as a football coach, said he has seen changes in the outlook of younger Americans and views his Senate campaign as a way to help address that.
Early voting for the runoffs began this week, and officials are urging voters to participate regardless of which candidate they support.
Dooley is facing Rep. Mike Collins in the Republican primary runoff. The winner will meet Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff in November.
