Global manufacturer bringing up to 140 jobs and more than $100 million investment to Macon
A company that makes insulated building systems for warehouses, factories and data centers plans to establish its North American headquarters in Macon-Bibb County.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A global manufacturing company is bringing its North American headquarters to Macon-Bibb County along with a new manufacturing operation that state and local leaders say will create jobs and add to the region’s growing industrial base.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced in a news release that ArcelorMittal Building Solutions will establish its North American headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macon. The company plans an initial investment of approximately $57 million and up to 70 jobs. Company officials also outlined plans for an additional $50 million investment and as many as 70 more jobs over the next several years.
“Georgia continues to break economic records,” Kemp said in the release. “ArcelorMittal Building Solutions’ new manufacturing facility comes at the right time to help meet growing demand across the state.”
Company manufactures building systems used around the world
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions designs and manufactures insulated building envelope systems used in warehouses, factories, data centers, and commercial buildings.
The company said its products help improve energy efficiency while reducing construction time through insulated panel systems that combine structural support and thermal performance.
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions operates more than 50 manufacturing and office locations worldwide and is expanding its presence in North America through the Macon project.
“This investment in Macon, Georgia, marks the launch of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions in North America,” CEO Jean Christophe Kennel said in the release.
Kennel said the company selected Macon because of its workforce, industrial base, and support from local and state partners.
Facility planned for Airport South site
According to the announcement, the new headquarters, manufacturing operation, and training facility will be located at the Airport South site in Macon.
The company said construction is expected to begin during the second half of 2026. Operations are targeted to begin during the second half of 2027, subject to permitting and approvals.
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions plans to hire employees in production, logistics, management, and sales.
The project adds another major employer to the Airport South industrial corridor and continues a series of economic development announcements in Macon-Bibb County.
Local leaders welcome investment
Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller said the project represents opportunities for local families.
“These 140 jobs aren’t just numbers; they are real opportunities for people and families to earn strong wages and have a better future,” Miller said in the release.
Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority Chairman Robby Fountain said the announcement reflects years of preparation and investment in industrial development sites.
“This announcement is the result of years of intentional, strategic work to position Macon-Bibb County for high-quality industrial growth,” Fountain said.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked on the project with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Georgia EMC, and Georgia Quick Start.
State economic development officials said the project further strengthens Georgia’s position as a destination for advanced manufacturing and international investment.
