FPD to clash with rival Stratford for GIAA State Championship

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A pair of Macon rivals will get the opportunity to compete for the state’s biggest prize this Thursday when FPD and Stratford meet on the diamond in Statesboro to begin their best-of-three series for the GIAA Class AAAA state championship. It will mark the first time in history that these two programs get to play each other for a state title.

FPD took care of Athens Christian in the semifinals, while Stratford dethroned back-to-back champion Brookstone over the weekend.

Game one of the championship series will take place on the campus of Georgia Southern University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
