What Macon-Bibb voters need to know before the June runoff

Election officials announced early voting dates, polling locations and absentee ballot deadlines ahead of the June 16 runoff election.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon-Bibb County election officials have released updated dates, voting information and public notices ahead of the June 16 runoff election.

According to the Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections, early voting for the June 16 General Primary Runoff and Non-Partisan General Election will run June 8 through June 12 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at three locations.

The voting locations are:

  • Macon Mall, 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite MB101
  • Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center at Carolyn Crayton Park
  • Northminster Presbyterian Church on Wimbish Road, which will temporarily replace Theron Ussery Park due to summer activities

Election officials say there will be no voting at the Board of Elections office on Monday, June 15, the day before Election Day. Polls on Election Day, June 16, will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The board also announced logic and accuracy testing for voting equipment will begin June 1 at 9 a.m. at the Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections office on Eisenhower Parkway. The testing is open to the public.

In a separate notice, election officials said absentee ballots for the June 16 runoff election will begin early processing at 11 a.m. on Election Day at the Board of Elections office. Officials said vote totals will not be released before 7 p.m.

The absentee ballot request deadline is June 5, according to the Board of Elections.
