Woman hospitalized after east Macon shooting

Deputies say the 23-year-old victim was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition.

UPDATE: The owner of Fincher’s BBQ says Monday’s shooting happened on Gray Highway in front of the restaurant.

In a Facebook post, Jake Fincher said everyone inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting was safe.

“We appreciate everyone checking on us and supporting our staff,” he wrote. “Please continue to pray for Macon and for everyone involved.”

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County deputies say a 23-year-old woman is in the hospital after being found shot near an east Macon restaurant Monday.

In an email, the sheriff’s office confirmed deputies responded to Hall Street at Northern Street in front of Fincher’s BBQ around noon in reference to an aggravated assault/shooting.

Deputies made contact with the victim. Paramedics responded to the scene and took her to a hospital.

According to medical staff, she’s in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office said no additional details are available at this time as the investigation continues.
