Pedestrian dies after being hit on Log Cabin Drive in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man has died after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday night on Log Cabin Drive.

Bibb County deputies say the crash happened in the 5000 block of Log Cabin Drive near Chambers Road and was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just before 9:30 p.m.

Witnesses told deputies a 52-year-old driver of a gray Chevrolet Silverado struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road wearing dark clothing.

The pedestrian was identified as 32-year-old Isaiah Scott. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, according to Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
