MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia pageant title holders are preparing to compete in the upcoming Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia’s Teen competition June 17-20 in Columbus.

The Middle Georgia representatives will compete for both titles June 17-20 in Columbus. They attended a media event at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Among those competing is Miss Central Georgia’s Teen Ava Mincey, who uses pageantry as a platform to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease, a cause close to her heart in honor of her late grandmother.

“And give those resources that the Alzheimer’s Association provides to anyone who needs them and is affected by Alzheimer’s disease,” she said. “So I am not nervous at all, and I am ready to serve Central Georgia with pride and all my might that I can do.”
