Bibb deputies identify man found unresponsive in motel room

Deputies say the 40-year-old man was found unresponsive inside a motel room Saturday morning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man found dead Saturday morning at a Motel 6 on Riverside Parkway.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 11 a.m. to Motel 6 at 105 Riverside Parkway after receiving a report of an unresponsive person.

Deputies say they found a 40-year-old man lying unresponsive on a bed inside one of the motel rooms.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Deputies identified the man as John Robert McLaurin after notifying next of kin.

McLaurin’s body will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The death remains under investigation.
