GMC Prep boys soccer captures 2nd state title in 3 seasons
Georgia Military Academy defeated Atkinson County on Friday night at Upson-Lee High School

THOMASTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Military Academy College Prep boys soccer team took an early lead on Friday night and never looked back as the Bulldogs defeated Atkinson County, 3-1, to capture their second state championship in three seasons.
Greyson Robbins got the scoring started less than six minutes into the first half, as his strike found the back right corner of the net. James Portwood doubled GMC Prep’s lead later in the half, as his goal sailed over the goalie’s outstretched arm and found the twine for the Bulldogs’ second goal of the night. Before the first half came to a close, Tommy Carty extended Prep’s lead with a missile into the corner of the net, giving his squad a three-goal lead heading into the break.
