More than 40 Middle Georgia restaurants join United We Dine fundraiser
United Way event encourages dining out to support people experiencing homelessness

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- More than 40 restaurants across Middle Georgia are participating in a one-day fundraiser to support people experiencing homelessness.
United Way of Central Georgia is hosting “United We Dine for Brookdale,” a day-long event where local businesses donate a portion of their sales to the Brookdale Resource Center.
The center provides resources and support to help individuals and families find stability. Organizers say the community response has been strong, with dozens of restaurants signing on to participate.
“The outpouring of support for United We Dine has been amazing,” said Philip Sweisgood, communications director for United Way of Central Georgia. ‘We have more than 40 restaurants. They are all right here locally. All of these restaurant owners are really excited about this. They’re excited to be able to not only support their business, but be able to give back to the community in a very meaningful way that actually tangibly helps people here locally.”
Participating restaurants include Macon Bagels, Sweet Eleanor’s, Fatty’s Pizza, Parish on Cherry and Ingleside Village Pizza.
Organizers encourage the community to take part by dining out and supporting local businesses while giving back.
