More rain is likely Friday as cloud cover sticks around

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rain chances around Middle Georgia will remain elevated as the work week ends and the weekend begins.
This Evening
Cloud cover will largely stick around while the sun is out however some clearing is expected through the evening. Overnight will be partly cloudy with most of the cloud cover being upper level cirrus. Temperatures will be down close to 10 degrees compared to last night with lows expected in the mid to upper 50s. The wind will be light from the north-northwest. No rain is expected.
Tomorrow
Another mostly cloudy day is likely Friday however rain should hold off until the afternoon hours. Temperatures will largely peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s accompanied by light and variable winds. Thunderstorm activity is unlikely however rain will become more widespread in the evening.
Overnight off and on rain is likely with the possibility for a bit of thunder and lightning. No severe activity is expected with any rain Friday evening/overnight. Temperatures will valley in the lower 60s for most of Middle Georgia as the wind flows from the southwest around 5 mph.
This Weekend and Beyond
Another area of low pressure and associated fronts will move through Georgia this weekend. This will bring thunderstorms throughout the afternoon on Saturday and if the cold front stalls as expected another wave of rain/storms looks possible Sunday evening/overnight. And that’s not even all as Monday looks to bring another round of widespread rain to Middle Georgia. More sunshine should return by the middle of next week.
