S&S Cafeteria on Riverside reopening Friday after fire
The restaurant has been closed since a 2024 fire.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – S&S Cafeteria’s Riverside Drive location is set to reopen Friday after being closed for almost two years following a fire.
Owner and CEO Richard Pogue announced the reopening in a social media post Wednesday, saying the restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Riverside location has been closed since September 2024, when a fire damaged the kitchen and back portion of the building.
Pogue previously told 41NBC the goal was to restore the restaurant while preserving its longtime identity, with updates including new seating, flooring and layout changes.
The Georgia Department of Public Health conducted a food service inspection at the Riverside Drive on April 23, which resulted in a score of 100.
Macon’s Bloomfield Village Drive location has remained open during the closure.
