Howard Middle School in Bibb County has been named a 2025-26 Kind School Designee, recognizing its efforts to build a culture of kindness.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Howard Middle School in Macon earned a 2025-26 Kind School designation from Teach Kindness, a national initiative that promotes kindness as a daily practice.

The program highlights schools that define kindness, teach it schoolwide, and support student-led projects that benefit their school or community.

Teach Kindness selected 32 schools across 18 states. Howard Middle School is one of only three schools chosen in Georgia.

“It takes real effort to build a school culture where kindness is the norm, not the exception,” said Brandi Watts, national director of Teach Kindness. “These schools are showing that kindness can be taught and practiced alongside academics.”

Other Georgia schools earning the designation include Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Atlanta and Anita White Carson Middle School in Greene County.
