FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Governor Brian Kemp has appointed Dorothy V. Hull as district attorney for the Towaliga Judicial Circuit, which covers Monroe, Lamar, and Butts Counties.

According to a news release, Hull brings nearly three decades of experience as a prosecutor, focusing on violent crimes and crimes against children. She spent 24 years as an assistant district attorney in Bibb County before joining the Towaliga Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, where she has served as chief assistant district attorney for the past five years.

Over the course of her career, Hull has handled cases involving murder, aggravated assault, rape, and child molestation. She has also written hundreds of appellate briefs and argued cases for the state of Georgia in both the Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

Hull lives in Monroe County with her husband, Mike Hull, who serves as chief deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and their children.

Hull fills the vacancy created when Jonathan L. Adams resigned; he’s running for a seat on the Superior Court of the Towaliga Judicial Circuit in Georgia’s May 19 election.
