Passenger killed in single-vehicle crash in Crawford County

Crash on Highway 80 West under investigation by state patrol and sheriff’s office

ROBERTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead.

Deputies responded around 3:21 p.m. to a crash at Highway 80 West and Hopewell Road West involving a vehicle with reported injuries.

When deputies arrived, they found a passenger had died from injuries sustained in the crash. Deputy Coroner Randall Pate pronounced the passenger dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to a local hospital by Community Ambulance. Officials said the condition of the driver has not been released.

Authorities are withholding the names of the driver and passenger pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
