The Middle Georgia Regional Commission is hosting the event featuring “A Butterfly Has Been Released” on April 29 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Film explores end-of-life journey
The documentary follows Allyson, a hospice nurse who documented her final days after a terminal brain cancer diagnosis.
Throughout the film, she shares an honest look at the end-of-life experience. At times, the story includes humor alongside difficult moments.
The film also highlights her final 39 days. For example, it shows her “living funeral,” where she celebrated life with loved ones.
After the screening, organizers will host a panel discussion.
The panel will include filmmakers Jason Zamer and Barry Koch. It will also feature hospice liaison Kim Hall and P.K. Beville, founder of Second Wind Dreams.
Together, they will discuss end-of-life choices. They will also cover green burial options and the importance of community support.
The event will benefit healthcare professionals, caregivers, and social workers.
However, anyone interested in conversations about life and death is welcome to attend.
