Polls open for Bibb County Commission District 5 special election

Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as voters choose from six candidates to fill vacant seat

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Voters in Bibb County’s Commission District 5 are heading to the polls today (Tuesday, March 17) for a special election to fill a vacant seat on the county commission. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Advance voting has already concluded.

Election officials said voters must go to their assigned precincts on Election Day to cast a ballot.

Six candidates are running for the District 5 seat: Andrea Cooke, Edward Foster, Chester Gibbs, Ulisha Hill, Landon Justice, and Stephanie Stephens-Lanham.

The District 5 seat became vacant after former commissioner Seth Clark resigned in January. The special election will determine who fills the position moving forward.
