MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is passing out weather radios for free.

According to a news release, the agency will give away 1,300 free NOAA weather radios on February 24, at the Macon Mall conference room from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

EMA says it will also pass out 130 pillow shakers and strobe lights designed to alert residents who are deaf or hard of hearing during severe weather.

To receive a free weather radio, residents must show a valid Macon-Bibb County ID at the event. Residents will also be asked to complete a brief survey before receiving a radio.
