(CNN)- A new war drama, a bestselling romance adaptation, and a celebration of seasoned Hollywood talent are making headlines this week.

The official trailer for Pressure teases high-stakes tension ahead of the largest seaborne invasion in history. The film centers on the crucial weather forecast that shaped the timing of D-Day. Oscar winner Brendan Fraser portrays General Dwight D. Eisenhower, delivering a performance focused on the weight of command and the life-or-death decision surrounding the invasion. The cast also includes Andrew Scott, Kerry Condon, and Damian Lewis. “Pressure” arrives in theaters May 29.

Meanwhile, Phoebe Dynevor, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Fair Play, is set to star in the film adaptation of Beach Read. Based on the bestselling novel by Emily Henry, the story follows a romance novelist grappling with writer’s block and personal grief while spending the summer in a beach town.

In awards news, the annual Movies for Grownups Awards is highlighting standout film and television achievements by artists over 50. This year’s Career Achievement Award goes to Adam Sandler. The ceremony premieres Sunday, February 22, on PBS stations, PBS.org, and the PBS app.
