Ross Sheppard begins run for Georgia House District 149
Sheppard says housing, healthcare and education will be central to his campaign.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville community advocate and small business owner Ross Sheppard has launched his campaign for Georgia House District 149.
District 149 includes a significant portion of Baldwin County, part of east Macon in Bibb County, and a section of Jones County.
Sheppard says he is running to bring what he calls bold, responsive leadership to Atlanta. He says his campaign will focus on housing, healthcare, and education issues impacting communities across Middle Georgia.
“When I look around, across the street, over this way dilapidated houses and things that need attention, I don’t see blight, and I don’t see hopelessness,” Sheppard said Tuesday. “What I see is potential. Potential for people and potential for places.”
The District 149 seat is currently held by Floyd Griffin, a Democrat from Milledgeville who took office in January 2025.
