Alpha Phi Alpha chapter hosts 29th annual MLK scholarship luncheon
Community members gathered to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and support youth scholarships

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Local community members gathered to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while also supporting future leaders during the 29th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Luncheon.
The Gamma Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, hosted the event as part of the Walden Ingram Foundation. The luncheon focuses on awarding scholarships to youth in the community.
Organizers say the annual event is centered on giving back and continuing Dr. King’s legacy through service, mentorship, and community support.
“It’s important for us to give back to the community,” said Craig Ransaw, President of the Gamma Sigma Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. . “That’s part of our oath and part of Dr. King’s legacy. We try to do our part.”
Ransaw says the chapter plans to continue growing the event in the future.
